Little-known Australian fashion designer Katie Perry has been left "reeling" after a 14-year trademark dispute against world famous pop star Katy Perry took yet another turn following her recent win in the Federal Court of Australia.
Two months ago, Katie Jane Taylor, who uses her maiden name Katie Perry for her business, celebrated her trademark win against the much more famous Katy Perry over the use of the name.
But now the famous singer has decided to appeal the Australian mum's court victory.

"I'm reeling to be honest. I feel like it's back to the beginning," Taylor told A Current Affair.
Taylor has owned and designed her own clothing label since 2007 and has held the trademark in Australia for more than a decade.
"This is my dream ... I've wanted to have a fashion label since I was 11," Taylor said.

Taylor sued singer Katy Perry, claiming she used the trademark in Australia during her 2014 tour and in April this year a judge for the most part agreed.
"It was a David and Goliath case," Taylor said.
"It's really been carrying on since 2009 and I felt like, 'great, the end is in sight, it's a win for the little guy', and then last week I found out the singer has appealed."

The fashion designer said she now has to talk to lawyers again, which is taking her time away from her business and kids.
She fears the decades of hard work she's put into her label will all be taken away from her.
"I've done exactly what the government told me to. I've registered the business name, got an ABN, got a trademark, I've done all those things," Taylor said.
"That's why this case has felt so wrong, because I've done everything I was supposed to do and then an overseas conglomerate can come to Australia and say, 'well I'm bigger, I've got more money, I can crush you'. (It) is wrong."
Taylor sells her original designs at markets around Sydney, while Katy Perry the pop star reportedly has a net worth of more than $500 million.
The fashion designer says she has no choice but to keep fighting and has 21 days to cross appeal the singer.
"I will not give up because ultimately I believe in truth and justice and I believe why I am doing this," she said.
