Unexpected act on live TV stuns internet - news.com.au

Grant Denyer got a call from a major Aussie company saying they will donate $50k to the flood appeal if he “pashed” Ben Fordham – and, he did.

Live coverage of the Red Cross flood appeal kicked off across three major Australian networks on Saturday, in a television first.

Aussie music greats such as Jimmy Barnes, Guy Sebastian, Vanessa Amorosi and Tones And I have banded together to help raise money for flood-ravaged communities in the nation’s east, with more than $25 million already donated to the cause.

However, social media exploded when radio host Ben Fordham and TV presenter Grant Denyer took things to a “whole new level” after Denyer received a call from a major Aussie company.

“And we also just had a pledge come in earlier from another major Australian corporation that said they will donate $50,000 if I pash Fordo,” Denyer told fellow co-hosts of the flood appeal, Amanda Keller and Natalie Barr, live in the studio.

“Are you sure this isn’t something you’ve cooked up because you want to kiss me?” Fordham asks Denyer.

“What does ‘pash’ involve? Are we talking mouth open, closed?” Keller asks, before Barr responds, “ I think open mouth”.

The men then exchanged in a passionate kiss, falling to the floor with Fordham laughing, telling Denyer to “get off” him.

“That just happened, Australia. If you can’t donate $5 for that you don’t know what quality entertainment is,” Denyer said in hysterics.

Fordham then took to his Twitter thanking Denyer for the “pash rash”.

“Thanks to everyone who has supported the flood telethon #australiaunites and thanks ⁦

@grantdenyer for the pash rash.”

It didn’t take long for viewers to jump on Twitter, flooding it with comments about the heated display.

“Well done guys, definitely donated just in time,” one woman tweeted.

“Lol it was pretty funny. I will never be able to unsee that,” wrote another, while a third added: “That was a moment in television that’ll go down in history!!!! Classic!!!!!”

Others were in disbelief, asking “what just happened”.

“Did everyone else just see Ben Fordham and Grant Denyer have a big kiss for 50k for the Flood Appeal. You go guys!! Bring in that (money),” one person wrote.

“@grantdenyer & @BenFordham‘s pash may be one of the best/most hilarious things I’ve seen on TV this year!!” added another.

“Locking (lips) for #AustraliaUnites is taking it to a whole new level! Well done guys definitely donated just in time,” a third person tweeted.

Australian Red Cross are raising money with a special telethon event called ‘Australia Unites: Red Cross Flood Appeal’ that kicked off live at 7.30pm AEDT on Saturday on Channel 9 and 9 Now, Channel 7 and 7 Plus and 10 and 10 Play.
