It’s no meat dress, but Lady Gaga turned plenty of heads in her figure-hugging, plunging evening gown on the red carpet at this year’s BAFTAs.
The biggest names in the movie business have hit the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in London ahead of the BAFTAS.
The EE British Academy Film Awards, where Aussie Rebel Wilson is making her hosting debut, is now underway and airs on Foxtel’s UKTV tonight at 8.30pm AEDT.
Sadly, there were none of the usual sightings of an ultra-glam Kate Middleton and Prince William, with the royals skipping this year’s event.
The nominations were announced in February, with Dune leading the pack with 11 nods, The Power of the Dog with eight, and Belfast with six.
But before any awards were handed out, all eyes were on the red carpet, where Wilson, 42, showed off her slimmed-down figure in a tiered black mesh Giambattista Valli SS19 Couture dress, which featured blue sequins and a black ribbon around the waist.
Leading Actress nominee Lady Gaga – who’s being recognised for her role in House of Gucci – stunned in a plunging gown, featuring an impressive train and a feathered handbag.
Florence Pugh debuted a short raven pixie cut in a black mini dress, which also had a train, this one made up of bright pink tulle.
Harry Potter star Emma Watson brought old-school Hollywood glamour to the red carpet in a halter-top dress with a frothy white tulle skirt.
Lashana Lynch – who assumed the title of 007 after Bond’s retirement in No Time To Die – is nominated for this year’s BAFTA Rising Star Award.
The British actress wore an off-the-shoulder black gown for the event, and accessorised with Tiffany & Co. jewellery.
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown made her red carpet debut with Jake Bongiovi – whose very famous dad is none other than Jon Bon Jovi.
Léa Seydoux – who reprised her role as Madeleine Swann in the latest Bond film, No Time To Die – was a shiny addition to the red carpet in a glitzy black and silver sequined floor-length Louis Vuitton dress.
The French actress showed off her shoulders with the low-cut sweetheart neckline and added some very modern arm-warmers to complete the look.
British supermodel Naomi Campbell kept it classic and simple in a black evening dress.
Meanwhile, Mexican-American actress Salma Hayek opted for a low-cut velvet gown featuring lace embellishments and a thigh-high split.
Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya jazzed up his navy suit with some very elaborate sleeves.
