The Bachelor Jimmy chooses his winner - NEWS.com.au

Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson has chosen his winner, leaving one bachelorette extremely heartbroken in Alice Springs.

The night is finally here.

It is time for our Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson to choose his winner, with Holly Kingston and Brooke Cleal fighting for his love.

In the end, Jimmy went with Holly.

“Relationships involve work, yes, but I think love should be easy,” Jimmy told the camera. “And I can honestly say that... ..falling in love with Holly is definitely one of the easiest things I’ve ever done.”

“Holly... ..when I think of a future with you, it’s exciting, it’s fun, it’s passionate. You make anything we do incredible and you light up any room you’re in.

“For me...love is getting home from a tough day at work together and cooking. It’s me leaving a note on your pillow when I know I’m not gonna be there when you get home. It’s having a fight, making up and growing from it. And I can’t wait to experience all of these things with you. And that’s what... That’s what this ring represents,” Jimmy says, handing her a Larsen Jewellery handcrafted champagne-coloured diamond ring.

“Holl... I want you to know that I am in love with you and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for both of us,” he adds.

After a tumultuous final episode, with differing opinions from his parents and his own confusion weighing in... it was hard to watch Brooke have her heart broken.

“Whenever we spoke about the future, it was always really difficult for us,” Jimmy told Brooke at the end. “You are perfect in every way, and I would never want to change you. But we are two different people. And it breaks my heart, but I have to say goodbye.”

Crying, Brooke begs, “Why did you do it here? Why here... ..in Alice Springs?”

“Honestly, I had no idea which way I wanted to go... ..and I have been thinking so much about this, and...there was just too many unknowns for us,” said Jimmy.

“Maybe you’re not for me, then, because I need someone to take risks with me,” Brooke says.

“I fell really hard. And it’s a shame.”

Before that choice was made, Jimmy went on his final dates, where his family made it extremely hard for him to choose between the two.

While nothing compared to Jimmy finding out that Jay, his third runner up dated the Bachelor from New Zealand, Jimmy just couldn’t get past how Brooke wasn’t independent enough.

Brooke and Holly met with Jimmy’s family before he made his final decision.

First up was Brooke, the 27-year-old occupational therapist from Victoria.

Brooke made a great first impression on Jimmy with her Sri Lankan love cake on the red carpet at the beginning of the show. She even received the very first single date of the season.

The pair have always had strong chemistry, but Brooke has been vocal about the difficulties of his work schedule and how a long-distance relationship would be too hard on them. It has caused both to wonder whether or not a relationship in the real world would work.

Things weren’t looking great for Brooke

Jimmy told his family that Brooke has independence issues – straight from her own brother’s mouth.

However, upon meeting his family Brooke went straight in, delving into their sexual relationship.

“We had our first kiss in the winery. And it was quite nice to be his first kiss,” she told his family when they asked what her favourite moment has been.

“And then, on our last date, I organised for us to have a spa together, because..i I wanted you to see a little bit more of my sexy side.”

This definitely raised eyebrows for Jimmy’s family.

Jimmy’s mum takes Brooke off to a private chat, where she admits that she is very “clingy” and “immature” in relationships. It doesn’t sit well with Mrs. Nicholson at all.

“She’s very intense. And so, she’s different to what I would normally have expected,” Jimmy’s mum tells the rest of the family after Brooke leaves.

“I think it would be challenging for him. It would actually be challenging for me,” she admits.

Holly met Jimmy’s family

Next up was Holly, the 27-year-old marketing manager from New South Wales.

When Holly met Jimmy, she took him off the red carpet and sat down for a wine and a chat. She joked this was the ‘first single date’. The move was bold and definitely worked, because for her first actual single date Jimmy introduced Holly his dog Billie, one of the “most important women in his life”.

Holly was also the first bachelorette to receive a second single date during the season. She had the chance to meet Jimmy’s sister and cousin, however they doubted her and questioned her intentions.

While Holly’s meet with Jimmy’s family went extremely well, she didn’t hit the mark for Jimmy’s dad.

After having a wonderful one-on-one with Jimmy’s dad, everything seemed to be in her favour.

However, after leaving, Jimmy’s dad told his truth.

“Look, my feeling is I think she’s a really, really lovely girl. Um... I don’t think she’s the right girl for Jimmy,” his father says.

“Um... I’ll keep this pretty brief. I guess what you’re trying to get out of me today is which of the girls would I recommend... and I’d be recommending Brooke.

“Both the girls are lovely girls, but I think Brooke has just something very special about her. I think she is so different to anything that we’ve ever had in our family before. There’s a real truth to her. And I think, as a partner for you, she could be amazing. On the other hand, Holly is very similar to girlfriends you’ve had in the past. Like, really similar, really similar. And I thought, ‘Ooh!’ That worries me a lot because it hasn’t worked. That’s my take.”

However, Jimmy’s mum didn’t agree at all.

“I think Brooke is too clingy and I think that dynamic would be problematic. Holly is more independent, confident, and I just... Looking at you two, you and Holly, I thought you two are just, like, you’re made for each other. So it’s not my choice at all, but, James, I think you should choose Holly.”

It looks like Jimmy went with his mum's advice in the end.

We can’t imagine how awkward this will be for Holly to now watch...
