Willie Garson, best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw's friend Stanford Blatch on Sex and the City, has died aged 57.

Along with his role on Sex and the City, he had a string of TV credits including NYPD Blue, White Collar, Stargate SG-1 and the reboot of Hawaii Five-0.
But it was his turn at Standford Blatch, the stylish talent agent friend of main character Carrie Bradshaw, that he was most known for.
According to IMDb, he was set to appear in the upcoming Sex And The City spinoff miniseries "And Just Like That...", having already appeared in the original series and its two movies.

Sex and the City executive producer Michael Patrick King told Variety that Garson had been ill during the filming.
"His spirit and his dedication to his craft was present every day filming And Just Like That," the magazine quoted King as saying.
Sex and the City co-star Cynthia Nixon also paid tribute to Garson.
"We all loved him and adored working with him," she said.
"He was endlessly funny on screen and in real life.
"He was a source of light, friendship and show business lore."
A teaser for And Just Like That was released this week, with the show set to come out later this year.
