Reports have emerged that Kanye West cheated on Kim Kardashian during their seven-year marriage – and his new song lyrics back it up.
Kanye West cheated on Kim Kardashian after she welcomed her first two kids, with the infidelity his inspiration for his new song, Hurricane.
Multiple sources confirmed the meaning behind the telling lyrics in the track off Donda, Kanye’s latest album that was released with plenty of fanfare and controversy.
They claim Kanye cheated on Kim at some stage after they had their first two children, North, 8, and Saint, 5.
“The song is in a way his testimony of everything he did wrong and taking accountability for their marriage breakdown,” one insider told the New York Post.
In the song, West raps:
Here I go actin’ too rich / Here I go with a new chick / And I know what the truth is / Still playin’ after two kids / It’s a lot to digest when your life always movin’
Our source confirmed the aforementioned “new chick” is not his brief fling with Russian supermodel Irina Shayk, despite rumours saying otherwise.
“If you look closer to the lyrics he is referring to his infidelity during his marriage with Kim, even after two kids,” the insider continued.
The song also alludes to West, 44, never going home to their multimillion-dollar mansion in California and struggling with alcohol abuse:
Architectural Digest, but I needed home improvement / Sixty-million-dollar home, never went home to it / It’s a whole lot to risk / Alcohol anonymous, who’s the busiest loser?
The claims come as a shock given such reports have never emerged despite the duo’s highly publicised relationship.
Despite the seemingly admitted infidelity, it wasn’t the straw that broke the camel’s back for Kim, 40, as she went on to have two more kids, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2, before filing for divorce in February this year.
While West’s bizarre presidential run and Twitter tirades proved the nail in the coffin, it’s understood his infidelity and struggles with alcohol also strained the relationship.
Breaking her silence on the divorce on the last ever episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which streams on Binge, the mother-of-four said she was starting to feel lonely in her marriage.
“I’ve never ever thought I was lonely … I thought I could just have my kids, and my husband moves from state to state, and I’m on this ride with him and I was OK with that,” Kim said in the episode, which aired in June.
“But after turning 40 this year I realised, ‘No, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state.’
“I thought that was when we were getting along best. But then that is sad to me. And that’s not what I want.”
Despite the divorce, the billionaire KKW Beauty founder and reality star has been publicly supportive of West since the Donda promo tour kicked off.
Reps for Kardashian and West didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
