Gabi Grecko takes to Instagram after death of ex-husband Geoffrey Edelsten - 7NEWS.com.au

Geoffrey Edelsten’s ex-wife Gabi Grecko has shared a number of cryptic social media posts following the flamboyant businessman’s sudden death.

The Melbourne-born businessman, 78, whose unconventional lifestyle demanded attention, died at his St Kilda home on Friday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

He had proposed to Grecko - an American model who was 46 years his junior - at the Melbourne Cup less than a year after calling it quits with American fitness instructor Brynne Gordon in 2009, who was 40 years his junior.

The pair tied the knot on June 11, 2015, but later divorced.

Their on-again-off-again relationship received much attention following Grecko’s outlandish social media outbursts and revealing photos.

The ever-romantic Edelsten got down on one knee dressed in his brashest yellow suit before the waiting media. She’d already proposed to him months earlier, but he wanted to make it official.

Their love bubble burst not long after, with claims of infidelity on Edelsten’s behalf, and a range of public spats.

‘How I feel today’

On Saturday, Grecko posted a series of images of the pair on Instagram - one was without a caption, while another read: “how I feel today” alongside photos of her grimacing next to Edelsten.

In another since-deleted post, she wrote: “not ready to comment”.

In 2017, Edelsten had sought an apprehended violence order against Grecko, though she was then back in the US.

On Friday, a spokesperson for his second wife, Brynne, released a statement on her behalf acknowledging his death.

“It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Dr Geoffrey Edelsten today,” the statement read, “on behalf of Ms Brynne Edelsten, we send our deepest and sincerest condolences.

“Brynne and Geoffrey enjoyed some truly beautiful moments, including their wedding which saw Brynne call Australia home since their wedding back in 2009.

“While their marriage ended after five years together, Brynne remains grateful for the good times the couple had shared together and is deeply saddened and shocked to hear of his passing.”

Brynne was 25 when she met Edelsten on a blind date in Las Vegas.

Their wedding at Melbourne’s Crown Casino cost a reported $3.3 million.
