Johnny Depp’s son appears in rare Instagram photo - NEWS.com.au

Johnny Christopher “Jack” Depp III, the son of acclaimed Hollywood star Johnny Depp, has emerged on social media after 19 years out of the spotlight.

The youngster appeared in a photograph on an Instagram fan account, raising his hands in the air with the famous Los Angeles Hollywood sign behind him.

Not much has been revealed about Depp’s youngest child, born to French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis in 2002 during the pair’s 14-year marriage between 1998 and 2012.

However, Jack clearly has clearly inherited some of the 57-year-old’s iconic features, sporting his father’s famous brown locks.

Depp said he was “very proud” of his son in a 2014 interview, noting that he wasn’t shaping up to become an actor but showed clear talent in other creative fields.

"My boy, Jack, has always been a very talented draftsman,” Depp told the Inquirer. "He draws really super well. He also plays music very well, and I couldn't be any more proud of him. Even if he doesn't want to be an actor like his old pops."

Depp’s other child, Lily-Rose, has however followed her father’s footsteps in the acting world, cutting her teeth in film with 10 appearances in feature flicks since 2014.

The 21-year-old shared words on growing up with fame and rebelling as a teenager.

“You can't be perfect all the time. Nobody's perfect. Period. I think that's just the fact of life,” she told Entertainment Tonight in April.

“I think that’s just the fact of life. But I think a big part of keeping a good head on your shoulders is just having a lot of self-awareness and never feeling like you take yourself too seriously to put your actions back into question.

“I think it’s always good to have a good self-reflection about the things that you’ve done and always thinking about how you could be better.”

Depp has faced ongoing controversy over the nuclear fallout to his short-burst marriage with Amber Heard, who accused the Pirates of the Caribbean star of assault.

Depp had sought to challenge last year’s decision to dismiss his lawsuit against the Sunnewspaper for branding him a “wife beater” — which a UK judge said was “substantially true.”

But in the ruling released, two Court of Appeal judges rejected his application for an appeal — insisting that he got a “full and fair” hearing. The initial judge “gave thorough reasons for his conclusions which have not been shown even arguably to be vitiated by any error of approach or mistake of law,” the ruling stated.

“We would accordingly dismiss both Mr. Depp’s application for permission to adduce further evidence and his application for permission to appeal,” they wrote.

The initial lawsuit led to three weeks of explosive testimony in July in which Depp and Heard, 34, gave conflicting accounts of their brief, tempestuous marriage.

Last month, Depp’s lawyers asked to rely on new evidence which they said showed Heard’s claim she had donated her divorce settlement to charity was “a calculated and manipulative lie.”
