While it seems like nothing could get in the way of Locklan ‘Locky’ Gilbert and his Bachelor winner Irena Srbinovska … former Bachie contestant Maddy Carver has other thoughts.
While chatting to Hobart’s Jimmy & Nath on Thursday, the 25-year-old school teacher admitted that she “can’t see them getting married.”

“Locky had all these girls’ attention inside the mansion,” she said.
“It would be really hard to go back to life just having one girl, don’t you think?” she added.
The admission might come as a surprise to Bachelor fans, who saw Locky call Irena his “future wife and baby mama” in his post-finale Instagram post.

But despite the grim prediction for their future, Maddy had some very nice things to say about Irena.
“I honestly don’t think Irena has a bad bone in her body.
“She was the mother of the house. She was the one that was cleaning, she was the one that was cooking.
“The nights that some people didn’t feel well she’d be ‘nurse Irena’, and she’d get out her medical kit … giving people Panadol if they needed it,” she added.
Maddy never received a single date from Locky, but she has now found love on the outside.
“I’m loved up now!” she beamed.
While she didn’t reveal the name of her new man, she did admit that he works as an accounts manager.
“We’ve known each other for about six years and went on a date six years ago. We didn’t click at all, and then [we] caught back up and this time something just clicked, and it just feels right,” she continued.

As for Locky and Irena, nothing has gotten in the way of their relationship just yet.
Not even Locky’s admission of love for runner-up Bella Veralis during the finale.
When the new couple appeared on The Project following the tense episode, panellist Tommy Little quizzed the nurse on how she felt when she saw Locky profess his love for Bella.
She explained: “Locky and I have spoken about the finale and he gave me a good run down of what happened.
“I had so much time to process everything by now,” she said.
“Watching last night, I was so focused on us and watching him get emotional and be so open-hearted and vulnerable made me love him more.”
Despite Irena’s fellow former contestant thinking they have no real future, the nurse thinks otherwise, with Irena packing her bags and moving from Melbourne to Perth to be with her new man.

While chatting to Whomagazine, Irena explained the reasoning behind the move.
“It was a hard sell for Locky to move to Melbourne with COVID at the moment. I really did not have Melbourne on my side so we made the decision that I would be moving over to Perth and I can’t wait to get over there,” Irena explained.
“I’ve got a few friends over there already so that makes it easier and I’ve found work. I think it will be a real easy and smooth transition,” she continued.
As for a future wedding and baby plans, Locky is ready to go!
“It’s definitely on the cards. I don’t see myself being with anyone else for the rest of my life so it’s definitely going to happen but we’re just going to get stuck into the start of our relationship and it will come later.”
