The Bachelorette Australia 2020: James Boggia reflects on explosive display - NEWS.com.au

Bachelorette viewers watched as James Boggia came furiously undone during a revealing dinner party last night – but while he maintains he has no regrets from his time on the show, he does wish he’d done one thing differently.

James dramatically stormed off in a jealous rage over Elly’s past with Joe Woodbury last night in a display described as a “red flag”.

But before the tense moment, laughter erupted around the table when he was asked about his ‘sex fetish’ by the sisters.

“I don’t really have a fetish but I’m a guy that likes a little bit of dominance,” he confessed at the time.

Speaking to news.com.au today, he said on reflection, he wished he’d taken longer to answer the question.

“I have no regrets about anything. It’s all learning curves,” he began.

“But watching it back I did think maybe I should take 10 seconds before I open my mouth next time,” he said, laughing.

“Obviously what I said didn’t go down very well, but I didn’t really think about how it was going to go down to be honest, I just said it.”

When he was sent packing from Bach HQ last night, James revealed he’d felt a real connection with the 26-year-old former Bachelor star – looking close to tears as his car drove away.

Speaking about his final conversation with Elly today, he said she told him his behaviour at the dinner party was “unsettling”.

“She didn’t like seeing that side of me … It was hard to hear,” he said.

“I knew I’d messed up so I just copped it on the chin. It was an emotional conversation.

“Obviously I don’t like seeing girls cry, so I just wanted to get out of there,” he said.

Elly and big sister Becky, who wore a stern look throughout the awkward dinner party, weren’t the only ones left unimpressed by James’ childish behaviour.

During the episode, Twitter erupted towards the 28-year-old wakeboarder, who had been labelled this season’s “stage five clinger” by viewers.

Many called him out for his “aggressive” reaction to Elly’s past.

Host Osher Gunsberg even weighed in on his tantrum:

Speaking today, James said he found the episode hard to watch back, but revealed it’s prompted him to reflect on his temper.

“Obviously there was some sadness watching that back … I’m learning from stuff I did wrong and making some changes though. You’ve got to be a man about it,” he said.

He went on: “It’s really made me take a look at my behaviour and think about my actions. I just let my emotions get the better of me and it’s something that I’m using to make some changes in my life.”

The Bachelorette continues tonight from 7.30pm on Channel 10
