Singer Ally Brooke, formerly of US girl group Fifth Harmony, made headlines when she revealed that, at 27, she’s still a virgin.
But she exclusively told Page Six that there have been temptations.
“I mean it is a difficult road — especially being a young woman in the entertainment business, you’re surrounded by attractive people,” she said.
“I stop the temptation by killing the mood … It’s like seeing a nice purse in the mall. You really want to buy it, but you have to save your money. So you walk around the mall thinking about the purse.”
If all else fails, there’s always prayer.
“Oh, God, yes. There were times when I was like, ‘Lord give me the strength to make it through this,’” she told Page Six.

But she also has a fear of dying a virgin.
“I pray to God like, ‘Please don’t let me die a virgin. Let me meet my husband before that happens to me and give me a few good years with him.’”
The former US X Factor star added she wants to be married by the time she’s 30.
Brooke recently made headlines when she spoke candidly about her decision to remain a virgin.
“It can definitely get hard and rough and you just got to stay strong and remember why I did it,” she recently told TMZ, adding, “And the end goal, you know, it’s a marathon and I’m trying to see myself at the finish line because for me personally, I think that’ll just reap such rewards in time.”
Brooke said that she was very “proud” of her virginity.

“I’m happy I can share it with my fans and be honest but it’s also awesome because I can still be flirtatious and be sexy and fun in my music videos and in my songs,” she said. “There’s just a certain line that I’m comfortable with, you know, certain songs that I will sing, certain lyrics that I will change, but it’s awesome just being empowered to be who I want to be.”
The Work From Home singer added that other celebs who waited to lose their virginity, like Jordin Sparks and Jessica Simpson, help her stay inspired.
“That was awesome to know that, hey, I’m not alone in this choice and I’m being empowered by other women,” she said.
She also offered up advice to anyone who is trying to stick to their commitment to wait until marriage.
“If you guys are trying to honour that choice, stick to it,” she said. “Remember why you did it and know that you’re not alone, ’cause there are some people that feel like, ‘gosh, I’m the only one who’s in this boat,’ but you have a lot of people who are with you and have the same struggles and challenges that you do and you know I’m here to root you on and say, ‘hey, stay strong.’ I know it’s tough but you really can do it.”
Her memoir, Finding Your Harmony, is out now.
