Lily James has given her first interview in the wake of her kissing scandal with married co-star, Dominic West.
But the star was given a free pass in regards to the controversy by US chat show host Jimmy Fallon, with no mention of her weekend away with West in Rome.
James, 31, had cancelled all interviews since her and West’s cosy relationship was exposed and pulled out of scheduled appearances on America’s Today Show and The Graham Norton Show.

She appeared nervous at first in the video call, before addressing rumours of a third Mamma Mia movie and said she’d jump at the chance to play Meryl Streep’s young Donna Sheridan once more.
James then revealed her “terrible” audition for the sequel after attending an iconic festival in the UK.
“I auditioned for Mamma Mia! during Glastonbury weekend. I knew I had to sing in this audition, I was desperate for this part,” she said.
“It was due to be scheduled at the end of Glastonbury. I knew for sure that after screaming in a field for five days there was no way I would be able to sing, so I did it on the way in the car.
“I had the car parked and filled to the brim with wellies. I went to Glasto. My phone ran out of battery.
“It wasn’t until on the way home, I plugged my phone in and my agent called me. I was like, (raspy voice) … ‘Hello!’
“She said, ‘You got the job!’ I said, ‘Please say it doesn’t start soon’.”

Fallon then asked James, “The producers say it was meant to be a trilogy, so there may be a Mamma Mia 3 in the works. Would you be interested?”
James quipped, “Yes, I would do 4,5,6,7,8,9,10. I’m down. Signed, sealed, delivered, I’m theirs.”
West was snapped with James riding tandem on an e-scooter in Rome as they headed for a cosy restaurant lunch two weekends ago.
After the pictures emerged last week, he put on a toe-curling display of togetherness with wife Catherine FitzGerald, 49, to insist they were still together and in love.
West said his wife has since travelled alone to Ireland on a “work trip” and was staying at the family’s Glin Castle home.
He added his marriage to his wife of 10 years “is completely fine”.
