SAS star Ali Oetjen surprises fans with great singing voice - NEWS.com.au

She’s doing incredibly well on the military-style show SAS Australia, but the former Bachelorette has many tricks hidden up her sleeve.

Ali Oetjen surprised fans on Thursday, showcasing her incredible singing voice on Instagram.

The 34-year-old posted a video singing Mariah Carey’s song “Hero” alongside her dog Jed.

“Jed and Ali duo,” she captioned the sweet video, as her dog howled along to her chords.

Ali has been a frontrunner on SAS Australia, entering the show heartbroken as she had just split with her former boyfriend Taite Radley.

In fact she claimed that she nearly didn’t go through with the show because she was so broken already.

Talking to Yahoo Lifestyle, she said that she had to quarantine for two weeks before filming began, and she did it while she was hurting.

“During that isolation I was like, ‘What am I doing? I don’t care how I’m going to do in this course because I’m feeling so sh*t at the moment’,” she says

“I was just thinking, ‘How am I going to do this?’”

She did at one point nearly give up, but decided to carry on with the show.

“It’s not like me to give up,” she says.

“I just felt like really disconnected and all over the place,” she reveals. “I really didn’t even get nervous leading up to the show because I wasn’t even thinking about it. I was just hurting.”

She also revealed how her mindset was completely different upon entering SAS as it was to when she was The Bachelorette.

“I knew going into it was completely different,” she says, adding: “I wasn’t looking for love at all … it was just an amazing opportunity to experience and test myself.”

The star also told Woman’s Dayrecently that she would never do a dating show again after the painful break up.

“I am definitely not doing another love show, ever!” she said. “I just want to focus on my wellness journey and keep on inspiring people in that industry.”

Before SAS began, the reality star was candid with her fans about how hard her break up was.

Oetjen uploaded an emotional video of herself crying on Instagram with a lengthy caption.

“You always see happy me, this is me today & has been my daily occurrence since my break-up, it’s bloody slow healing, sadness & hurt fill my whole body.”

“Meditation, Yoga, exercise, nature, cooking, family, friends and focusing on my goals allows for my peaceful spirit to just be. I’ve never experienced anything like this where my soul still feels connected, I still love but know we don’t align.”
