Rebecca Judd slams Ellen DeGeneres over TV stunt on podcast 3PM Pick-up - PerthNow

Bec Judd has taken aim at Ellen DeGeneres amid the controversy surrounding bullying claims among the talk show queen’s staff.

The AFL WAG laid into DeGeneres over an “awful” stunt she played on her audience, while backing her rumoured replacement James Corden.

On her podcast, the 3PM Pick-Up, Judd and her co-host Katie “Monty” Dimond discussed a 2017 stunt which has resurfaced amid claims of a toxic work culture on the Ellen show.

The segment involved setting up a table of Ellen merchandise and encouraging audience members to take only one item, while they were filmed by hidden cameras.

A woman who took more than one item, claiming it was for her sister at home, was invited to speak to Ellen and shamed on TV.

Judd and Dimond blasted DeGeneres for the uncomfortable moment.

“That is such an awful set-up as well the fact that they even set up the cameras to film someone, knowing someone was going to do that and then to do that to them,” Judd said.

“That would have been the worst day of her life, so humiliating.”

Judd also threw her support behind Corden, who is rumoured to be taking over the show amid the bullying allegations.

“The latest rumour is that James Corden is going to take over the show, I like him,” Judd said.

It comes as DeGeneres’ wife Portia de Rossi called for fans to “stand by” the star.

Whilst Ellen, 62, was not accused of any wrongdoing in the allegations, she sent a letter of apology to her staff last week, which caused backlash after actor Brad Garrett — who appeared on the chat show six times between 2004 and 2007 — accused her of treating people "horribly".

de Rossi has asked for people to show kindness toward the chat show host, as she also thanked those who have already showed their support.

Sharing an image on Instagram which read "I stand by Ellen", the 47-year-old model wrote: "To all our fans....we see you. Thank you for your support. #stopbotattacks
