Former Home and Away star Kate Ritchie was spotted with her lookalike daughter Mae at Sydney Airport.
Kate, 45, and Mae, 9, matched in baggy jeans. Kate looked chic but kept herself snug in an oversized jumper, while Mae rocked a plain white T-shirt.
The actor shares Mae with her ex, Stuart Webb, a former NRL player who played for the Dragons, Roosters and Rabbitohs during his football career.
Kate has gone the extra mile for the airport and worn pants that button-up. It’s impressive, considering everyone knows the unofficial airport rule is that elastic waist pants are perfectly acceptable to wear no matter the time of day.
Fashion efforts aside, the former soap star has already had a busy year. In March, she gave the people what they wanted and belted out the Home and Away theme song at a charity event.
Kate famously started playing the character Sally Rooney when she was just eight years old and didn’t leave the long-running soap until 2008 after 20 years on the show. She’s quite the radio hit – she now co-hosts on the Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie Show – but people still associate her with the soap.
She was attending Sony Foundation’s Wharf4Wharf fundraiser at Woolloomooloo when her Nova 96.9 breakfast co-host Wippa threw her under the bus and said on the microphone that he’d be willing to donate some money to the cause … on one condition: Kate had to sing a particular jingle.
He offered her $2000, and Kate seemed happy enough to oblige; she bought the house down with her incredible rendition of the theme song.
Of course, she pointed out what better place to show off your vocal talents than a party hosted by a record label?
“If I want to get out of here (Nova), stop wasting my life, and begin that music career I’ve always hoped for, what better way to unleash the beast than at a Sony Foundation charity event?” she said.
As if that weren’t exciting enough, she’s had the pleasure of letting people know she’s not secretly dating one of Australia’s most eligible bachelors.
Kate shut down speculation that she was having a romance with Aussie F1 star Daniel Ricciardo, 34, on her radio show.
New Idea Magazine published an article that claimed Kate had a crush on the driver.
Kate laughed, saying it was “the best fiction I’ve ever read”.

Daniel is reported to be taken anyway. He is in a relationship with Heidi Berger, the daughter of Austrian F1 driver Gerhard Berger.
In fact, in 2022, Daniel shared on the Fitzy and Wippa Show that he was in love.
“Yeah, mate, I’m in love. I got a good thing going, so yeah. I’ve got a good balance in life right now,” he said.
