Josh O’Connor has been roasted on social media over his appearance at the premiere for of his latest film, Challengers.
The film follows Zendaya’s Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy who is now a coach.
Tashi is married to a tennis champion who is on a losing streak and soon finds himself facing off against his former best friend, and Tashi’s ex-boyfriend.
At the LA premiere, O’Connor joined Zendaya and Mike Faist to meet fans and discuss the movie.
While all eyes as usual were on Zendaya, some found it hard to stop looking at O’Connor for all the wrong reasons.
The British actor was seen wearing an oversized grey suit that rendered his hands completely invisible, which he paired with a pastel green undershirt.
Social media was having none of it, and people quickly took to their keyboards to poke fun at the star.
“At this point I swear some publicists and celebs are doing this just to be the subject of a hit tweet,” pondered one fan.
A second joked: “Please be kind. His mother dressed him and she’s blind.”
“When your mum dresses you and says you look nice,” laughed a third, with another teased: “He looks like a puppy that asked to be magically turned into a human”.
Meanwhile on the red carpet, O’Connor praised working with director Luca Guadagnino, calling it an honour.
“It was a pleasure working on this movie,” he told Yahoo. “When you got a director like Luca, it’s such an inspiration. He knows exactly what he’s doing in any given scene, and it’s a real treat and an honour.”

Zendaya was quick to echo her co-stars views, telling Deadline: “Luca is brilliant. I think he has such a beautiful understanding about the human experience and deeply understands characters on another level.
“That was very apparent from the first time I spoke with him about this film and about these characters. He just knew who these people were in a deep sense and understood them, their hopes, their wants, their dreams, their desires, their fears.”
She continued: “It was nice. It was so special to be able to collaborate with him, work with him, and learn from him as well. We had tennis training and all these great things. But we also had rehearsal, which was something he had never done before, and it was just so special for us to have that time to work on the script, dig in, and get to know each other.”
