Bluey finale has everyone in tears - news.com.au

The latest episode of Bluey had kids and their parents both reaching for the tissues.

The beloved Aussie series aired its season three finale on Sunday night; a super-sized episode that clocked in at almost 30 minutes – almost four times the length of a regular episode.

The poignant finale saw Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, Chilli and the extended Heeler family celebrating the wedding of Bandit’s brother Radley to Frisky.

They also navigated planning a huge change of their own – moving to a different city.

Bandit voice actor Dave McCormack revealed that the emotional finale dealt with life’s unpredictability, telling LA Times: “Everyone is trying to make the best decision at that time and you’re going to make mistakes.”

Parents are bursting into tears watching the latest Bluey

“I think that’s for me the underlying feeling of this episode is you’ve just got to try and do your best. You’re going to get it wrong sometimes,” McCormack added.

“But you’ve just got to do what you think is right at the time with the info you’ve got, which is a pretty big concept for a kid’s show.”

After the episode aired parents from around the world rushed to social media to share their heartbreak, with many posting videos on TikTok as well as responding on the show’s official Instagram account.

“I cried so much,” one mum wrote. “Hit me real hard. After a second viewing my 7-year-old cried too – he doesn’t want to ever move from our place. Top episode, guys!”

“It’s midnight where I am (California) and I watched it alone so that I could cry in peace,” commented another.

A third said her husband had even joined in the waterworks, adding: “There are a minimum of 6 Bluey episodes that make me cry so I was expecting the same for this one. What I didn’t expect was that I would be crying and my husband next to me would also have tears rolling down his cheeks. Bravo.”

Throughout the 28-minute episode, titled ‘The Sign’, the audience is left wondering will Chilli and Bandit sell the house or won’t they, as Bluey fights the seemingly inevitable move to “another city” for Bandit’s work.

It looks like all hope is lost when real estate agent Bucky Dunstan slaps a ‘sold’ sticker on the for sale sign Bluey has spent most of the episode trying to get rid of.

But through a twist of fate – courtesy of Muffin – the buyers find an even better house.

Bandit receives the news from Bucky as the Heelers are about to pull out of their driveway for the last time.

It’s the sign the family has been waiting for.

The moment quickly shifts from “biscuits” to “whackadoo” and the episode ends with the family right where fans want them to be – in their character-filled Queenslander.
