Grimes shares video of son with Elon Musk X Æ A-Xii - NEWS.com.au

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a year since we were all trying to figure out the pronunciation of Grimes and Elon Musk’s son’s name, X Æ A-Xii.

While we’re still no closer to knowing, the singer has provided a glimpse of her one-year-old — and he’s growing up fast.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, posted a quick montage on TikTok teasing her new song Shinigami Eyes while also giving a peek of her son with the SpaceX CEO Musk.

The tot – whose parents call him “Little X” for shot – is visible only from the back in the clip, taking a wobbly step while holding a glass, wearing a blue T-shirt and adorable pink-and-blue shorts and rocking his “viking” haircut given to him by his mum earlier this year.

Over the footage, which includes snippets of her trip to Italy, Grimes’ new song’s lyrics “Are you ready to die … Shinigami eyes,” can be heard.

“SHINIGAMI eyes is finally done and you all get the first listen,” the musician captioned the video. “Show me your content (might still b sum changes but video is almost done) #italy.”

The video was a rare sighting of the little one, given Grimes mostly features footage relating her music on her TikTok account.

Back in March, her billionaire partner Elon Musk shared a pic of their son together.

In the photo — which he captioned, “Starbase, Texas” — the proud parents are both wearing sunglasses while the baby admired a colourful bouquet of flowers.

While the exact pronunciation of the boy’s very unusual name remains a mystery, Grimes tweeted about the origin of it in May 2020 around his birth: “X, the unknown variable,” she began.

“Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent.”

The singer continued, “A=Archangel, my favorite song.”

Her explanation left many no closer to understanding.

Grimes recently spoke out about her son, explaining that he’s already found a love for “radical art.”

“I’ve watched Apocalypse Now and stuff with my baby. He’s into radical art. Like, he just actually is, and I don’t think it’s problematic to engage with them on that level,” she told the New York Times.
