Dwayne Johnson reacts to ‘f**ked up’ question about his abs - NEWS.com.au

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is famous for his muscular physique, so getting shady ab hate mail is new territory for him.

Johnson, 48, and his Jungle Cruise leading lady Emily Blunt, 38, participated in a lighthearted video Q&A for their Disney film, and it was all fun and games until someone criticised his washboard abs.

Blunt, holding a board printed with the “The Web’s Most Searched Questions” about Johnson, read the question as: “What is the deal with The Rock’s … flabby tummy?”

The actual question – “What’s wrong with The Rock’s abs” – hit a nerve with the wrestler-turned-actor, who works hard on his physique.

“That’s so f**ked up,” Johnson said in response as the pair attempted to laugh off their jaw-dropping shock.

“That is f**ked up,” Blunt agreed. “Who wrote that? What’s wrong with them?”

On a serious note, Johnson tried to reason with the question, speculating that the average person is comparing him to fitness gurus on Instagram that have unreal “six, eight, 12, 24-pack stomachs.”

The Rock admitted his self-named “five-and-a-half pack” isn’t perfect because of a devastating wrestling injury in 2013 during a match against John Cena.

“In a wrestling match, I tore the top of my quad off my pelvis,” he said, adding that the injury tore his abdomen wall, requiring surgery.

Blunt and Johnston, who were interviewing each other to promote their new movie, promptly pivoted to a joking mood, making light of the criticism.

Johnson said he needed to fix the search engine results, vowing to start searching, “What did the Rock overcome?” to outweigh the negativity.

Meanwhile, Cena, a fellow wrestler-turned-actor, recently said he hopes to see Johnson back in the WWE ring soon.

“I love The Rock, and so do millions and millions of people,” Cena, 44, said. “I think he would warm so many hearts if he came back.”

However, because of his injuries, acting career and harsh ab criticism, it’s hard to say if “The Rock” will return to the ring where he first shot to fame.
