Lara Worthington stuns in rare red carpet appearance - NEWS.com.au

Australian model and media personality Lara Worthington made a rare public appearance overnight, looking stunning at the Melbourne Fashion Festival.

The 33-year-old, mum to three children with husband Sam Worthington, dazzled in a dramatic Dion Lee dress worth $1990 as she walked the red carpet solo.

Worthington burst to fame here in Australia back in 2006, when she was known as Lara Bingle, as the face of Tourism Australia’s controversial “Where the bloody hell are ya?” campaign. From there, she was everywhere for a few years, signing deals with Vodafone, Speedo, and an international contract with Elite Models. In 2012, she even starred in her own fly-on-the-wall reality series, Being Lara Bingle.

But since starting a relationship with Sam a year later, Lara has lived a much quieter life, largely out of the public eye. The couple married in 2014, and have three children together – Rocket, Racer, and a latest addition born in June last year. So private are the couple, they haven’t yet publicly revealed their third son’s name.

“I think any addition brings joy and happiness to the family, but more so when you can share it with the other boys. It’s such a boy’s club in my house!” Lara told Vogue Australia during her third pregnancy.

The normally US-based family returned to Australia in January, with Sam about to star in a new production at the Sydney Theatre Company.

Speaking to Stellar magazine in 2019, Lara said her ups and downs in the public eye here in Australia had taught her a valuable lesson.

“I’ve been through so many phases in my life and I’ve learnt that the people you surround yourself with are so important,” she said.

“Good people are my go-to. I’ve learnt that trusting people is imperative. I really value their opinions and take it all on board, and then develop my own thoughts and feelings.”

She said her move to the US is what helped her slide into a normal life – one her husband craved more than she did – but one she soon realised she needed.

“I don’t have to put on any facade with him, and moving to America has meant we’re able to live a really normal life. In fact, he’s more normal than me. He’s the guy from Perth who drinks milk before he goes to bed!” she told Stellar.
