Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has defended Piers Morgan over his comments over Meghan Markle's highly-publicised interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The 60-year-old said he thinks Morgan 'lost his job for nothing' when he quit Good Morning Britain after facing severe backlash from the public.
Clarkson admitted it "was weird' for him to agree with Morgan's comments, sharing his thoughts in his column for The Sun.
"Markle's toast, and within five years, I suspect she'll be posing for photographs, on her own outside the Taj Mahal or sitting on the back of a playboy's yacht in the Med," he wrote. "And poor old Piers will realise that he lost his job over absolutely nothing at all."
Clarkson also added that the royal family had survived 'much worse' and calling Markle "a silly little cable actress".
Over 57,000 people had complained about the 55-year-old's comments about Meghan to UK media regulator Ofcom, after Morgan voiced his controversial opinions over the interview.
The controversial broadcaster questioned whether Meghan Markle was telling the truth when she admitted on air that she had suicidal thoughts before stepping back from her duties as a member of the royal family with Prince Harry.
Morgan then had an on-air argument with Alex Beresford, promoting him to storm off set. Later, the 55-year-old announced he was leaving his role as co-host of the breakfast TV show, refusing to apologise to the Duchess.
During his rant, he said he doesn't believe a word Megahn Markle says.
"I wouldn't believe it if she read me the weather report," he said. "The fact that she's fired up this onslaught against our Royal Family I think is contemptible."
Morgan has been a long-time critic of the Duchess, accusing her of 'ghosting' him in 2016.
However, it was after her marriage to Prince Harry that he ramped up his public disdain for her, accusing her of being a bad daughter and heavily criticising her baby bump photos.
After quitting the show, he tweeted about the incident, maintaining his opinion of Meghan.
"On Monday, I said I didn't believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview," he wrote.
"I've had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don't. If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I'm happy to die on."
"Thanks for all the love, and hate. I'm off to spend more time with my opinions."
