Meghan's father Thomas Markle is gunning for a tell-all Oprah interview of his own - 9Honey

Meghan Markle's estranged father has reportedly hand-delivered a letter to Oprah Winfrey requesting she interview him.

Thomas Markle, 76, drove to Winfrey's California home and delivered the letter to a member of security, with instructions to pass it on to the renowned TV host.

According to reports from The Sun, Thomas is hoping to "tell his side of the story" following his daughter's recent tell-all with Winfrey.

Meghan and Prince Harry discussed their royal exit, the daughter they're expecting, and even her controversial family in their recent TV special with Winfrey.

According to a source who spoke with The Sun, Thomas now wants to respond to Meghan's claims with his own TV interview.

"Thomas delivered a letter to Oprah asking her to contact him so he could tell his side of the story," the source claimed.

"This was not a note to Meghan and Harry, it was meant for Oprah. Thomas watched the interview she did with them and feels he deserves a chance to have his say."

It wouldn't be the first time Thomas has gone to the press to "have his say", the 76-year-old having spoken to the media about his royal daughter countless times since she wed Prince Harry in 2018.

Despite Meghan's requests for him to stop sharing details about her with the press, Thomas has continued to speak out.

Following her and Harry's bombshell Oprah interview, Thomas went to the British media to slam her claims about her time in the monarchy.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, he described one of her claims – that there was concern raised in the palace over how dark Archie's skin would be – as "bulls—t".

"I have great respect for the royals and I don't think the royal family are racist at all," Markle said.

He also claimed that he felt let down by Meghan and Harry, who he said haven't spoken to him in years.

"I was in a hospital bed the last time we talked and I never heard from them again. They didn't care if I died, I never heard form them again … and they have not talked to me since," he said.

Thomas went on to claim that he has apologised for speaking to the press about his daughter against her wishes and said that he still loves her and has "tried to make up for it".

However, Meghan has made it clear time and again that she does not appreciate her father speaking about her to the press.

She recently fought and won a legal battle sparked by Thomas sharing a private letter from her with a UK tabloid.

With that in mind, it's unlikely she'd be pleased to hear her father is now angling for a tell-all interview of his own with Oprah.
