Chrissy Teigen fans are turning on the star after her latest social media faux pas.

Taking to the platform to ask followers for their stories of being overcharged for disappointing meals, the model and author shared the time she and multiple Grammy-award winning husband John Legend were charged an exorbitant amount for a bottle of wine they were recommended at a presumably top-tier restaurant.

“What’s the most expensive thing you’ve eaten that you thought sucked?” she posted, before launching into her tale of being fleeced by a crafty waiter.

Oone time john and I were at a restaurant and the waiter recommended a nice Cabernet. We got the bill and it was 13,000 dollars. HOW DO U CASUALLY RECOMMEND THAT WINE. We didn’t even finish it and it had been cleared!!!” she wrote.

Fans were quick to slam the truly unrelatable tweet with hilarious memes and stories of their own in mock understanding, with Chrissy’s name soon trending on the site.

“Sometimes I’ll go eat at five guys and the bill is like 20 bucks for a burger and fries so I know this feel,” another wrote.

Others defended the star, who also revealed that this week would have been the due date of her son, Jack, who died stillborn and was delivered about halfway through Teigen’s pregnancy in late September 2020.

Scrambling to defend herself, Teigen followed up with a series of tweets including one in which she reminded fans that she regularly donates to charity.

“hey, not everything I say on my twitter is going to be relatable to you because it is my life and my twitter and my stories. I see your tweets, I get your jokes, you are so funny, yes, you really nailed me,” she wrote.

“I really dunno how that was bragging. but I do donate, so much, I promise I do. The public stuff is very public and the private stuff is, well,” she said elsewhere.

In another response, she added: “honestly, I will be that person for you. it is fun to gang up on me. I *see* the convos that bring you together in your owning of me. I make it easy. have fun.”

She went on to remind fans of her recent heartbreak: “me, sharing story of getting screwed over by a waiter. shares story of rough week, baby would have been born. feeling anxious, sad. you: let’s f**king own this rich b**ch for retweets.”

But her tweet incited more criticism, with one follower writing: “I’m sorry you shared a really f**king insensitive story about casually throwing away $13,000 on a platform for all to see during a recession/job crisis/pandemic? that it is a rough week for you does not mend the horrors of what everyday ppl are going through that u could NEVER.”

Teigen simply responded: “my god. I am a real person you know. are we having rough week olympics?”

The star is no stranger to a Twitter pile-on.

She was recently called-out as tone deaf for posting travel photos of her visit to Washington DC for Joe Biden’s inauguration, at which Legend performed.

At the time, the entire city was shut down at the time following the riots at the Capitol.

While she later said she didn’t “blame Chrissy” for the current situation in DC, the user did call Chrissy ”tone deaf” for publicly planning a trip for a concert ”no one will even be able to see.”

“Why are you guys always always mad at me,” the model and author wrote in response to others who joined in on the backlash.

“All I wanna do is make you happy or at least leave you with a neutral feeling of indifference.

“This is not my fault but I’m sorry you’re frustrated. I just like to share what we are up to and whatnot.”
