Getaway host Catriona Rowntree has revealed her older sister Lucinda has been diagnosed with stage four cancer.
The TV presenter took to Instagram to pen a birthday message to Lucinda.
But the post quickly became bittersweet as Catriona revealed her sister's health struggles.
Catriona revealed that Lucinda's cancer is "apparently incurable" and has had to quit her job as a school teacher as she "commits to the fight of her life".
She also added that a GoFundMe has been organised to help ease Lucinda's financial stresses and help with her medical expenses.
Catriona's message began as a sweet tribute to "blonde beauty" Lucinda who she described as a "true gem" whose "smile and laugh warms everyone's hearts".
The long-time Nine presenter spoke fondly of Lucinda saying she "never caused their parents an ounce of worry" and had "no boyfriend dramas" as she married her first boyfriend Johnno whom she met at 14.

Speaking on Lucinda's diagnosis Catriona said: "I'm trying so hard to choose my words carefully here, other than to say a lot of tears have been shed, BUT Lucinda is fighting and positive. We all are."
She also shared an update on Lucinda's treatment journey, sharing that has she has started chemotherapy and immunotherapy at Royal North Shore Hospital.
"Lucinda is the first to be placed on a new medical trial, that may one day help a loved one of yours," Catriona added.
Catriona called for friends and followers to donate to Lucinda's fundraiser and shared a powerful parting message: "Trust me when I say to live your life to the absolute max.
"None of us know what each moment holds for us and please say a little prayer for Lucinda tonight. Thankyou 😘."
Friends, followers and even some of Lucinda's ex-students shared messages of support in the comment section.
"Ohhhhh can you please give her a huge hug from me! Lucinda was my year 5 teacher 😍 I still remember the day she helped wash sparkles out of my eye in art class 😂 Sending you huge love Lucinda," one ex-student wrote.
"Donation made. Hope you all feel the love and support. Every raindrop fills the ocean," another commented.
