Prince Harry has confirmed he will attend his father, King Charles III's coronation on May 6.
Harry's wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, will not be attending and will stay in California with the couple's two children, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
The coronation coincides with their son Archie's 4th birthday.
Preparations for the event have also been overshadowed in recent months by Prince Harry and Meghan's damning allegations about the King, Prince William and other royals in his recent memoir, a Netflix documentary and a series of TV interviews.
King Charles will be crowned at Westminster Abbey in London alongside Queen Consort Camilla.
The ceremony is usually an opulent display of pomp and pageantry with traditions harking back 1,000 years, celebrating the ascent of Charles and Camilla as monarchs.
That the event is taking place during a cost-of-living crisis and with the British economy in turmoil has prompted the royals to opt for some cost-saving measures, such as cutting short the route Charles and Camilla will follow in a golden carriage.
Prince Harry's attendance could be construed as a matter of convenience as well as an acceptance of the olive branch extended through his invitation.
He will likely have another engagement in the UK immediately following the coronation.
Harry, along with a number of other high-profile figures, are suing the parent company of the Mirror newspaper over alleged illegal information gathering.
The trial is yet to be finalised, but it has been pencilled in for May 9th, three days after the coronation.
