Aussie actor and singer Dean Geyer has stepped in to defend Lea Michele amid backlash that she bullied cast members during her time on Glee.
The 34-year-old, who played Michele's on-screen boyfriend in the fourth season of the show, recalled her being "the most welcoming" cast member on the program.
"Lea is still one of my favourite co-stars that I have had the pleasure of working with. She is extremely hard working and super fun to be around," Geyer told the Daily Mail on June 4. "Her work ethic is so strong it forces you to always be on top of your game, and that's something I looked forward to everyday on set. I definitely learned a lot."

Geyer said Michele was immediately nice to him when he joined the show.
"When jumping onto a hugely successful and established show like Glee, I went into it expecting to be known as the 'new guy' for at least a month, but that wasn't the case at all. I almost immediately felt welcomed, and to be totally honest, out of everyone, Lea was the most friendly to me."
Geyer played Brody Weston, who was Rachel Berry's love interest on Season 4 of the musical series.
Michele's behaviour on the set of Glee drew criticism after a former co-star Samantha Ware — who starred in Glee's sixth and final season in 2015 — accused Michele of making her life a "living hell."
"LMAO remember when you made my first television gig a living hell?!?! Cause I'll never forget. I believe you told everyone that if you had the opportunity you would 's--- in my wig!' amongst other traumatic microaggressions that made me question a career in Hollywood," Ware tweeted in response to Michele's tweet on George Floyd.

On June 3, Michele issued a statement via Instagram where she apologised for the incident.
"The responses I received to what I posted have made me also focus specifically on how my own behaviour towards fellow cast members was perceived by them," she wrote. "While I don't remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or colour of their skin, that's not really the point. What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people."
