Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has addressed rumours she was busted snorting cocaine in a bathroom saying she’s “never been interested” in the drug.
The radio star broke her silence over the claims with her Kyle and Jackie O Show co-host Kyle Sandilands following KIIS’ win for Best Networked Show at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards at the weekend.
“Remember when I was a coke wh**e?” the 48-year-old said live on air on Monday.
Sandilands responded that while he was familiar with the rumours, he knew Henderson had never dabbled with the drug before.
Henderson went on to explain how the rumours started, revealing she went out with her friend on Saturday evening and things began to spiral.
“We were at a bar and these girls walked up to him and told him the bartender said he had to kick Jackie O out because he busted me doing coke in the toilet,” she began.
“This a**hole is trying to pick up girls by hurling s**t at me and making a story up about me.”
Thankfully, Henderson’s friend came to her defence and told the bartender where to go.
Henderson said the bartender was an absolute “d**k” and said situations like hers was how false allegations spread.
In April 2020, she claimed her cocaine addiction rumour began in the mid-2000 and she hadn’t been able to shake it.
“It’s because I got really skinny,” she said, adding that it was started by a “few people” in her industry who loved conjuring up drama.
She then swore on her daughter Kitty’s life that she had “never done cocaine”, saying: “I’ve just never been interested. I really haven’t.”
Henderson’s response comes as she also revealed she had rushed the 12-year-old to hospital after the awards night saying her daughter needed help after the team collected their award on stage.
“Kitty came up as well because, you know, she’s part of the KIIS team at times,” Henderson said on her radio show.
She said the show’s executive producer, Pedro Vitola, had lifted Kitty up so that she could “see the crowd”.
“She was up pretty high too,” Vitola said on the show.
“She’s up on his shoulders ... and you know 12-year-olds, they don’t want anyone — crowds — looking at them. They’re self-conscious,” Henderson said.
“So I think she had a little moment of like, ‘Oh my god, everyone’s looking at me. I gotta get down.’ And she hadn’t eaten much that day either.
“We got off-stage and we’re all travelling from point A to point B to get the photo taken at the photo wall ... and all the guys — like 25 of them — are chanting. Like it’s loud and they’re all excited ... sounds like soccer fans,” she continued.
“So it was kind of hectic and then I think Kitty was almost about to faint and then sort of had a bit of a panic.
“Kitty had a little bit of a panic attack and so — to cut a long story short — I ended up taking her to the emergency.
“I just took her myself. I just wanted to get her checked just in case.”
Henderson said that, thankfully, Kitty “was fine”, but she explained the drama meant they missed out on the after-party.
