A royal insider has claimed Meghan Markle was "wary" about whether Prince Harry writing a memoir was a good idea and may have raised "gentle concerns" to her husband about the project.
A source told The Telegraph the Duchess of Sussex was far from the motivating force behind Spare, claiming "media-savvy" Meghan was “more circumspect" about whether a book deal was the right move.
However, despite her initial doubts, the former Suits actress is understood to have fully supported the 38-year-old throughout its completion.
“Is this the way she would have approached things? Possibly not,” the source told the British publication.
“But she will always back him and would never have got involved in promoting such a personal project.
“This was about his own life, his own journey and his own perspective.”
It comes after the mother-of-two - who is said to be elated over the success of the best-selling book - has kept a low profile since its release.
She did not appear in any of her husband's promotional interviews in both the US and the UK and has not spoken publicly about the memoir.
A royal insider also told the UK newspaper that another reason she has kept a low profile following its release is to avoid being accused of trying to "steal the limelight" from Harry.
Meanwhile royal expert Cindy McCreery has predicted Harry will attend King Charles' May coronation with Meghan by his side and expects he will be the one to extend an olive branch to his estranged father and brother at the historic event.
“As Harry has signalled in his recent interviews, he really wants to establish good relations with his father and his brother,” Associate Professor McCreery told Sky News Australia.
“That’s not to say that he feels that he shouldn’t have said what he did, but I think that he does want to extend an olive branch.
“I think from the other side both Charles and William would want to be seen to be making amends with Harry."
