TV channel Adult Swim has confirmed that Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland has been removed from the show amid domestic battery charges.

The move was announced on Wednesday morning via Adult Swim and Rick and Morty's official social media channels.
"Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty will continue," the statement reads.
"The talented and dedicated staff are hard at work on season 7."
As well as serving as co-creator and executive producer, Roiland provides the voices of both titular characters in the animated show.

Roiland has been charged with corporal injury and false imprisonment by menace, fraud, violence or deceit against a former girlfriend, who he was living with at the time.
The woman was not identified in court documents.
Roiland has pleaded not guilty, with his attorney T Edward Welbourn issuing a statement
"Not only is Justin innocent but we also have every expectation that this matter is on course to be dismissed once the district attorney's office has completed its methodical review of the evidence," Mr Welbourn said.
Despite the incident occurring in January 2020 and Roiland being charged in May of that year, the charges were only widely acknowledged in January of this year when a pre-trial hearing was held.
Roiland is set to return to court in April. A trial date has not been set.
Rick and Morty, which follows the absurd sci-fi adventures of a mad scientist grandfather and his grandson, debuted on Adult Swim in 2013 and quickly became a ratings juggernaut for the network.
In 2018, Adult Swim announced it had approved 70 more episodes of the show in addition to the 31 that had already been aired at the time.
