A group of young poets got quite the surprise when they logged in for a virtual class to find Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had joined them.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dialled in to the youth poetry session, run by Los Angeles organisation Get Lit - Words Ignite!, on Saturday in honour of Black History Month.
The video call marks the couple's first public appearance of 2021, and they appeared happy, relaxed, and even a little sun-kissed.

"Guess who surprised our poetry class this weekend?! It was the best weekend EVER!" Get Lit posted on Instagram, alongside a screenshot of the royal cameo.
"Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were magic and kind and interested in poetry! The Duchess even shared some of her favorite poetry lines."
Meghan's love of the written word is no secret.
In 2019, she featured a poem about body-positivity by Matt Haig in her guest-edited issue of British Vogue, calling it a "personal favourite".

Later that year, she quoted poet and activist Maya Angelou during the duke and duchess' tour of southern Africa.
The Sussexes spoke with the poetry students for 45 minutes, listening to their work, answering their questions and asking questions in turn.

Get Lit's Manager of Public Outreach, Mason Granger, said Meghan was particularly engaged in the discussions.
"My favorite part of it all was Meghan echoing so many sentiments we've talked about in class, about this particular moment in time/history to be a young person and the ripple effect of a single voice," he wrote on his Instagram page.
"The root of [the duke and duchess] deciding to come is because at some point in their lives, they were moved by a poem. And whoever wrote that poem at some point thought to themselves, 'Does this even matter? Is anyone even listening?' And they shared it anyway.
"10/10 would recommend The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for your next Zoom poetry practice."
The organisation promotes literacy and empowers young people through poetry.
