BBC reporter forced to remove X-rated coronavirus fundraising video - NEWS.com.au

BBC bosses ordered one of their reporters to remove a sexy spoof music video she made to raise cash for coronavirus workers.

The public broadcaster’s award-winning Ireland correspondent Emma Vardy, 39, was filmed in bed with her boyfriend Aaron Adams during the footage.

Other scenes featured her boyfriend’s pals recreating scenes from Queen’s “I Want To Break Free” video.

Vardy pretended to have sex with her man while lip-synching lyrics of the Freddie Mercury classic.

Her boyfriend posted it on his Twitter under his hand @Mr_Bumcheeks – with the message: “So here it is. Four weeks of lockdown … no football … and this is what happens.”

Cash raised by the clip will go to the staff, patients and volunteers caught up in the coronavirus crisis.

The BBC realised the video was fun but claimed Vardy had overstepped the line.

Despite it being for a good cause, bosses ordered her to remove her skit – launched on Twitter – and sent warning emails to newsrooms.

Vardy is known for confronting politicians linked to the New IRA.

The BBC said: “Emma accepts it was inappropriate and removed the clip.”

“It was intended to be lighthearted.”

JOURNALIST’S ACCIDENTAL LIVE CROSS REVEAL

Earlier this month US TV reporter Melinda Meza accidentally beamed footage of her husband showering during a live cross.

In the report about styling your hair at home because of social distancing for California TV station KCRA 3, Meza filmed herself cutting her own fringe in the bathroom.

But she was unfortunately unaware that a man’s reflection was visible in the mirror behind her – a completely naked man showering, to be exact.

The accidental photobomber was Meza’s husband Mike de Lambert.

The unfortunate X-rated cross appeared to go unnoticed until the segment was posted to YouTube, with screenshots of the moment ending up on Twitter.

“Why did she use the bathroom instead of another room?” one person tweeted, while another joked it was a “pleasant surprise”.
