After being fined $25,000 for spruiking a light device he claimed could fight coronavirus, celebrity chef Pete Evans has been copping it again.
The 47-year-old took to Facebook yesterday to host a Q&A with followers, only to be faced with a fresh blow when he was told he’d “lost the plot”.
In a live session that has since been deleted from his social media page, Evans awkwardly reads out the comment from someone called Deb who had tuned in.
“You have lost the plot mate, such a shame,” it reads.

Despite being heavily criticised once again, Evans claps back at the follower.
“That’s okay Deb,” he laughs. “Is it because I’m sharing recipes? Or because I’ve shaved my head and grown a beard?”
He went on to explain that another follower had pointed out recently that his freshly grown facial hair, a look Evans has adopted during lockdown, went against his “clean cut” image.
“They said, along the lines of this, ‘How can somebody take you seriously because you’re growing a beard and you’re meant to be clean cut’,” Evans said, finishing the statement with laughter.

The brutal criticism over his relaxed look comes after Evans was fined $25,000 for comments he made in a previous Facebook live earlier this month.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) issued two infringement notices to the controversial health guru after receiving complaints about his promotion of the $14,990 “BioCharger” machine.
Evans described the gadget as a “hybrid subtle energy revitalisation platform” during the April 9 livestream and claimed it could treat a range of ailments, including COVID-19.
“It’s programmed with a thousand different recipes and there’s a couple in there for the Wuhan coronavirus,” Evans said in the video.
His Facebook page claimed the device, which looks like a food processor with a light in it, could replicate light, frequencies, harmonics, pulsed electromagnetic fields and voltage that are found in nature.
Evans was widely criticised after the video was broadcast.
On April 24, TGA said “claims that the device could be used in relation to ‘Wuhan coronavirus’ … has no apparent foundation … which the TGA takes extremely seriously”.
“Any claim that references COVID-19 is a restricted representation under therapeutic goods legislation, and is of significant concern to the TGA given the heightened public concern about the pandemic,” the TGA said in a statement.

In the past Evans has been widely criticised for giving unsubstantiated health and medical advice.
In 2017, he promoted the paleo diet as a treatment for chronic diseases as severe as diabetes, cancer and autism in children which was slammed by the Australian Medical Association.
He also promoted a DIY bone broth for infants that experts were particularly concerned about as it “contained more than 10 times the safe maximum daily intake of vitamin A for babies and inadequate levels of other nutrients”.
