Thousands of Dua Lipa fans queued for hours at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday night after reporting the ticketing app used for the concert had failed.
Huge crowds formed outside Qudos Bank Arena for the second Dua Lipa show in as many nights amid reports Ticketek’s digital ticket system was down.
Attendee Paula Dayeh told the Herald that patrons had been lining up outside for hours and staff were resorting to manually checking emails before concert-goers could enter the venue.
“Either Ticketek has crashed or all the tickets are being voided ... It was meant to start at 8.30pm and there’s still a couple of thousand people waiting outside [at 8.45pm],” she said. “No one has told us what’s going on.”
Dua Lipa appeared on stage about 9pm and later apologised and thanked fans for their patience. The arena appeared to have filled up by this time.
There were reports on social media that Ticketek outages affected a number of other events in Sydney.
Qudos Bank Arena did not wish to comment when contacted on Wednesday night.
