Former Triple J hosts Matt Okine and Alex Dyson are reuniting for a new daily show.
The lads who hosted Triple J Breakfast together from 2014 to 2016 have launched a new podcast called Matt & Alex – All Day Breakfast.
Episodes will be released at 6am every weekday with the pair reflecting on the day’s topics and sharing their views of the world.
Speaking to news.com.au, Dyson said: “A lot has changed since Matt and I hosted Triple J breakfast, but one thing hasn’t: We still have the urge to make people laugh at our own expense.”
There was certainly no shortage of laughs when the pair hosted their show on Triple J. When asked about their most memorable on-air moment, Dyson said: “Probably road-tripping from Canberra to Brisbane in a listener’s old car that we traded for a Charizard Pokemon card, in order to swap it for a pregnant alpaca named Lucky. That was a big day.”
As for Okine, who went on to write and star in two seasons of The Other Guy after his Triple J stint, he picked a different moment as his most memorable.
“For me it was filming the ‘Pack’er Up Boyz’ video one morning during Melbourne Comedy Festival,” he told news.com.au. “I remember watching Alex Dyson hiding inside a rubbish bin waiting to yell it to the next passer-by, and knowing there and then that we were creating a truly world-class, highbrow masterpiece for the ages.
“I can’t wait to bring more of these moments to our All Day Breakfast podcast,” he said.
