British DJ legends The Chemical Brothers have added their name to the growing list of international acts giving Perth a wide berth on their Australian tour.
The Hey Boy, Hey Girl hitmakers announced they will be touching down on Australian soil this summer but won’t be crossing the border to WA.
Instead, they will play cities like Geelong to keep their roadshow on the East Coast.
The snub comes after The Weeknd also left fans gutted this week by announcing extra dates to his Australia tour in December but again failed to add a single Western Australian date.
The growing trend among international artists comes as the WA opposition called on Roger Cook’s government to do more to entice artists to WA.
Promoters have cited trucking costs across the Nullarbor making Perth shows ‘risky’ financially.
Other acts to dodge WA include Taylor Swift, Sir Paul McCartney and the Jonas Brothers.
Liberal leader Libby Mettam has said: “It’s clear the Government has much more work to do in this space.”
Coldplay demanded seven figures from the WA government to fly to Perth to play two shows at Optus in November.
Fans hoping to see The Chemical Brothers, they’ll need to fly to Brisbane on February 27, or Sydney Showground on February 29.
The chart toppers then head to Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong in Victoria on March 2.
