Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr got emotional on air as the breakfast program said goodbye to another “invaluable” staff member just weeks after Kochie’s shock exit.

The 55-year-old farewelled the show’s autocue operator Suzanna in an emotional goodbye on Friday morning while the studio held a round of applause.

The production operator has worked on the show for 22 years, but decided it was time to move on.

“We are wishing good luck to Suzanna who has been rolling our autocue for more than 20 years. And she’s leaving us,” Barr said.

“Whether it’s here in the studio or out in the field... all those memories. She’s been with us on so many occasions and done such an amazing job.”

Barr continued: “You are invaluable. We don’t like the fact that you’re leaving, but we have to let you go.”

Suzanna’s departure comes just weeks after David Koch, 67, retired as co-host for Sunrise after 21 years working in the studio.

Kochie made the shock announcement live on television, telling beloved viewers after “nearly 21 years and 5,300 shows”, he felt it was time to move on to his next stage of life.

Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington was selected by Seven Network executives to fill Kochie’s spot on the brekky couch.

The Olympic sprinter, 44, took over as co-anchor of Sunrise alongside Barr on June 13, and his first day saw an influx of ratings.
