MAFS bride Selin has accused her husband Anthony of not being a “gentleman” after he sent her his bank details following a Macca’s run.
Married At First Sight bride Selin has erupted at her TV husband Anthony during Wednesday night’s dinner party, accusing him of not being the “gentleman” he says he is – and claims she’s got the receipts to prove it.
The pair have been the experiment’s most explosive couple since the get-go, and have struggled to recover from their various fights which kicked off on their honeymoon three weeks ago.
After a redeeming week last week – which saw them bond during intimacy challenges – their union was tested yet again on tonight’s episode, with things kicking off when Selin, 32, became frustrated by Anthony, 38, putting his feet on the coffee table.
They arrived at the dinner party on frosty terms, before Anthony confided in fellow bride Selina (not to be confused with Selin) about how he “knows I’m worth more than this”.
A furious Selin overhears this conversation and spits: “Don’t sit here and say ‘I’m a gentleman, I’m this, I’m that.’ I’m sick of hearing it. Don’t f**king bullshit me.
She adds: “What are you giving me? What are you doing?!”
Anthony argues he’s been “getting you coffees” and “ordering you dinner”, before Selin drops a bombshell.
“You went storming down f**king how many kilometres getting me McDonald’s in the rain. You sent me that god damn receipt. $16.75,” she yells, as the group watches on in horror. “You sent me your account details! So don’t sit here and be a f**king man.”
A bewildered Anthony claims he “never” sent such a receipt. “I’m a genuine good person!” he says. “You don’t have the capability for a relationship. You don’t.”
Later, in a piece to camera, Anthony says he has attempted to “play nice” but he could no longer cop Selin’s treatment.
“It was like somebody opened the floodgates,” he said. “We dance around the issues and never actually talk about it.
“I don’t need to justify me as a person to anybody. I’m a good person and I believe I’m worth a lot more than Selin is offering.”
After copping the wrath from viewers earlier on in the series – when she trashed Anthony in front of the group and later refused to accept his apology for bailing on their horror honeymoon – mother-of-one Selin told Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa that viewers only see “1 per cent” of what actually happens during filming.
“I just think the viewers have got to understand they see 1 per cent of everything that has happened. That’s 1 per cent of everything,” she said.
“It was definitely a double decker bus that I threw him under. It was not nice. People were asking me what happened and I don’t think it’s a bad thing to say what happened.
“And unfortunately, I did try to have these conversations with Anthony prior (to) the dinner party, and I actually sat next to him. I don’t know if you’ve seen, but I sit next to him at the dinner party before we go on to the table, and I tried to talk to him and I got brushed off.
“So when it comes to the end of the night and I was you know, maybe a bottle of wine in unfortunately at that point, I didn’t want to listen. And yes, I could have drew a line in the sand.”
