Snoop was also sporting a sweater with the colours of the Rams, so it was clear to see where his allegiances lied.

Despite reports before the performance suggesting Tupac could make an appearance via a hologram, he was nowhere to be seen when ‘California Love’ started blaring.

But one surprise appearance came in the form of 50 Cent, who, like a bat, emerged hanging upside-down from the roof of one of the stages before launching into ‘In Da Club’.

The show then moved down to the ground as Kendrick Lamar sang ‘m.A.A.d city’ and Mary J. Blige belted out her stunning vocals as well.

It was then Eminem’s turn to steal the show, as he performed his classic ‘Lose Yourself’.

Fans everywhere were losing their minds as the legends of hip-hop combined for a halftime show that some lauded as one of the best in history.

However, there was one slight moment of controversy in the performance from Eminem.

After he finished ‘Lose Yourself’, he decided to take a knee — an action he was reportedly told not to do by the NFL.

According to a report from Puck, the rapper was at odds with the NFL kneeling “Colin Kaepernick-style” at the halftime show.

Eminem did indeed kneel after the report stated the NFL had shut down the idea.

However, the New York Post claims that the rumours were shot down as false before the broadcast by league representatives, who told the publication that “players have been taking knees since 2016 without sanctions, so musical talent wouldn’t be held to a different standard.”

Puck’s report goes on to claim that in the lead-up to the performance, Dre was being “disgustingly censored”, with one supposed instance occurring with the NFL’s disdain for a lyric from ‘Still D. R. E,’, which states that the rapper is “still not loving police.”

Puck also claimed that Dre put up most of the $9.8m budget himself and also bought an extra stadium box for his friends to watch the all-time performance.
