On Saturday, news broke that FKA twigs had sued ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, accusing the actor of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles.

In an interview with The New York Times, Twigs detailed her relationship with LaBeouf and accused him of "relentless" physical and emotional abuse.
Now, Sia has shared her own allegations against LaBeouf, who starred in the 2015 music video for ‘Elastic Heart’ alongside then-12-year-old dancer Maddie Ziegler.
“I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single,” she wrote in a tweet posted Saturday.
“I believe he’s very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away.”
In a follow-up tweet, she expressed her support of FKA twigs, adding “This is very courageous and I’m very proud of you.”
As she told the New York Times, twigs (real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett) met LaBeouf in 2018 when she was cast in his arthouse film Honey Boy, and the two dated for nearly a year.
In one alleged incident detailed in the lawsuit, the musician says LaBeouf threatened to crash the car they were driving in unless she professed her love for him; when she begged to be let out, LaBeouf allegedly pulled over to a petrol station, threw her against the vehicle and screamed in her face.
“What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I’ve ever been through in the whole of my life,” she told the Times, and said she wanted to raise awareness of “the tactics that abusers use to control you.”
In an Instagram post, Twigs said she hoped the lawsuit would “help people understand that when you are under the coercive control of an abuser or in an intimate partner violent relationship leaving doesn’t feel like a safe or achievable option”.
In response to Twigs’ claims, and those from Karolyn Pho – another ex-girlfriend featured in the lawsuit – LaBeouf told the Times that “many of those allegations are not true,” but that he owed both women “the opportunity to air their statements publicly and accept accountability for those things I have done.”
He also acknowledged that: “I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
Earlier this year, LaBeouf won a screenwriting award for Minor Modifications – a screenplay based on the life of Kevin Abstract, the 23-year-old rapper and BROCKHAMPTON ringleader who struck up a relationship with the actor through “Friday therapy sessions” in 2019.
