The extent of Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s injuries have been revealed after the TV veteran fell from a trapeze during a performance of the stage musical Pippin.
7NEWS reported earlier that the 67-year-old plunged to the ground during Wednesday night’s show yet was able to finish her song before being rushed to hospital.
Now we can confirm that the star has suffered a broken collar bone.
Kennerley plays the role of Grandma Berthe in the Australian season of the hit musical, which recently started its string of shows at Sydney’s Lyric theater.
The 67-year-old had earlier spoken about her physical and grueling role in the production, which requires her to ascend into the rafters on the trapeze.
“In my big number, I have to get on a trapeze and go up 15ft (4.5m),” she told The Senior.
“I’m helped by a very strapping, hunky trapeze artist and we do several movements including one called The Bird, and one where I have to hang by my feet.”
“It’s a big learning curve and I realise how active and tough this is going to be, but every day there is some improvement.”
Two months ago, the star also took to Instagram to share a video of her learning how to use the trapeze.
“Told you I wanted to join the circus! So excited to be playing Berthe in @pippinaustralia . Now I have the chance to sing upside down,” she wrote.
It’s unknown whether Kennerley will return to the stage for the remaining shows in Pippin’s Sydney season, which continues through January.
