A-list actor Paul Mescal and singer Gracie Abrams have been spotted dining together in London.
Mescal, 28, who is still dining out on the success of the limited series Normal People and will star in the highly anticipated Gladiator sequel, has been seen having a cozy dinner with Taylor Swift’s former opening act, Abrams.
Abrams, 24, has just released her sophomore album, The Secret of Us, which features a collaboration with Swift. She is also the daughter of J.J. Abrams, the man who created Lost and plays a huge part in Star Wars.
Both are having career highs and they looked very cute together.
Mescal kept it casual in a white T-shirt, and Abrams wore a ruffled white shirt that would have been seen as very ugly two years ago but is now bang on trend.
Fans immediately lost it at the idea that the two could be dating. One fan expressed shock by writing, “Excuse me?”. Another called it someone cute, and another fan expressed their surprise that the two were hanging out by claiming they were “shocked.” Everyone was excited.
In a small kind of world way, there’s a reason the two probably know each other besides being two Gen Z celebrities.
Mescal used to date musician Phoebe Bridgers, but the two broke up in late 2022. The connection? Bridgers was also an opening for Taylor Swift on her unfathomably successful Eras tour, breaking records left, right and centre.
Bridgers and Mescal had a pretty public relationship. She famously tweeted about his performance in the show Normal People, and he replied.
The pair were together for two years.
Meeting on social media meant fans could watch them fall in love, but Mescal told Vanity Fair that he didn’t plan to have a public relationship again.
“I definitely feel the temptation to say the status of my whatever — that will always be there. But I don’t think that’s a wise thing to do … moving forward as much as I can, that’s going to be my life that is private,” he said.

Meanwhile, Abrams dated songwriter Blake Slatkin for almost five years. Since then, she’s been linked to actor Dylan O’Brien, but neither has confirmed the relationship.
Abrams has never really spoken about her love life publicly, but she did suggest in an interview with Elle that her new album gives some real insight.
“The energy of the music that I’ve been making this year has felt like when you run home to tell your best friend every detail of your night,” she said.
