Hollywood actor Chris Evans has left fans baffled after appearing to reveal his real accent during a red carpet interview.
Evans has never been known for a strong accent, regularly just using a neutral American accent throughout most of his movies.
However, an interview appearing to feature the star’s real accent has sent social media into a tailspin.
After his strong Bostonian accent slipped out during a chat with Access Hollywood, fans have shared their confusion.
“Chris Evans asking ‘moustache or no moustache’ in his Boston accent should be illegal and grounds for arrest,” commented one on the resurfaced viral video.
Another wrote: “Chris Evans putting that Boston accent into overdrive now that he’s done with Marvel.”
One person noted the actor’s real accent as actually a good indicator of his skills, as they wrote: “Chris Evans is a much better actor than I previously thought if he’s been hiding this thick a** Boston accent the whole time.”
“I can’t stop thinking about Chris Evans’ Boston accent and it’s sending me into a spiral,” added another viewer.
Meanwhile, earlier this year Evans broke his silence about an infamous photo taken of him in 2016, which has since gone viral on numerous occasions.
The photo shows the Captain America star appearing to autograph a bomb or missile while visiting with US armed forces.
Since it was taken eight years ago, the photo has resurfaced on social media many times, often leading to backlash from Evans’ fans.

“This image was taken during a USO tour in 2016 … I went with a group of actors, athletes and musicians to show appreciation for our service members,” he wrote.

Evans also posted a screenshot of an AFP Fact Check story from February this year “debunking” the image, which some on social media had more recently incorrectly claimed showed the actor signing a missile destined for the Gaza Strip during Israel’s ongoing airstrikes on the Palestinian territory.
