Stan announces Yellowstone's highly anticipated season five premiere date on Australian screens

Yellowstone's fifth season is hitting Australian screens later this year, according to an announcement by Stan.

The streamer will debut the Western series, which stars Kevin Costner, on November 14. 

Yellowstone has already begun production for its upcoming season, which will air in two parts.

Kevin Costner confirmed the news yesterday, telling fans: 'Hope you're ready for another wild ride.' 

The season will span 14 episodes, marking the hit show's longest season. 

Costner is joined in the cast by Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Jen Landon and Kathryn Kelly.

Since its launch, Yellowstone has shattered viewing records in the U.S. with the Season 4 premiere garnering over 14 million total viewers and the finale delivering over 15 million total viewers. 

Also coming soon is the Yellowstone spinoff series 6666 from creator Taylor Sheridan.

The show is set at the 6666 ranch in Texas during a timeframe when West Texas was ruled by Comanches, according to producers Paramount.

'Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 has inspired a new scripted series where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing,' Paramount said. 

The description continued: 'The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavour to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.'

The ranch was seen in Yellowstone's fourth season when Jimmy (played by Jefferson White) visited there.

New details were released on another Yellowstone-related project from Sheridan, 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, which is an offshoot of the limited series 1883, Deadline reported.

David Oyelowo will star in the titular role of lawman Bass Reeves, who caught more than 3,000 criminals without being injured.

Yellowstone's season five will premiere in Australia on November 14, the same day as in the United States, on Stan.
