Sunrise co-host Sam Armytage has finally dished the details on her intimate New Year’s Eve wedding, revealing it was a rather last-minute affair.
Sam, 44, who returned to work at Sunrise today after tying the knot with horse breeder Richard Lavender last year, revealed that the ceremony was “hastily arranged” in just three days.

“Three days before we decided that we’d do it for New Year’s Eve, and we did it, we got it done and it was lovely,” Sam told her Channel 7 colleagues this morning.
Sam explained that she and Richard decided to lock in a wedding date after chatting about their desire to tie the knot with her father, Mac.
“We were all sitting outside as you do around Christmas time, having a champagne and beer on the veranda,” she said.
“Dad said, ‘Just do it, for god’s sake, just do it.’ So we did it!
“It was nice. There was 12 of us there. We organised it in three days and it was fun.”

The ceremony was held at Richard’s country property in the NSW Southern Highlands and was attended by a small group of close family and friends.
Sam announced her engagement back in June, sharing that Richard had popped the question at his 40-hectare property – where they tied the knot.
“We’d been picking weeds in the paddock and he said, ‘Darling, do you want to marry me?” she said. “It was very sweet, very romantic,” she said on Sunrise.
The pair were introduced by charity fundraiser and wife of TV executive David Leckie, Skye Leckie.
Taking to Instagram today, the TV star shared a series of new photos from their wedding day taken around the rural property.
The nuptials took place just over six weeks after the TV host tearfully farewelled her mother Elizabeth “Libby” Armytage, who died from an auto-immune disease aged just 68.
