Abbie Chatfield reveals she lost 6kg in the jungle - NEWS.com.au

Queen of the jungle Abbie Chatfield lost 6kg in just 20 days during filming for I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!

But the passionate body positivity advocate was quick to clarify that she wasn’t trying to lose weight, and went straight to an Italian restaurant for a carb load when she finished up on the show.

The Channel 10 reality star spoke to Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa this morning, telling the hosts she headed to Bondi institution Totti’s for a post-jungle feed after spending three weeks on a diet of rice and the occasional animal testicle.

“Someone on radio this morning was like, ‘Were you just trying not to eat’ … (I was like) what are you talking about, I wasn’t trying to lose weight!” she asserted.

“When I got out, two days after I went to Totti’s. Two burratas, two breads … vomited afterwards,” she joked.

Former Bachelor star Chatfield often talks about unrealistic body standards for women, becoming a body positivity beacon for her Instagram followers.

Among many posts of her “real” bikini body on her feed, last year, the star filmed herself posing to the camera to illustrate how influencers contort their bodies for the perfect shot.

“It’s the constantly contorting my body even when no one’s looking for me,” she wrote, admitting she is guilty of partaking in the trend.

“This is probably why I have lower back pain and this TikTok trend CALLED ME OUT. LMAO this isn’t a “I’m so bloated from bread!” post, it’s literally just what we look like when we don’t suck in and have a uterus, can we normalise it please? Even if it’s just for our lower backs?”

Chatfield was crowned the winner in last night’s I’m A Celeb finale after a dramatic season that saw her engage in a brief jungle romance with Ash Williams, clash with AFL legend Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico over his comments on her bikini and, most notably, get bitten by a snake during an intense challenge.

Speaking of the distressing moment on radio this morning, she said: “It was a bit dramatic though from me watching it back.

“Imagine the worst hangover of your life, you’re starving, you’re hot, you’re tired and then you get bitten. Everything’s amplified,” she explained, adding that Dr Chris Brown’s reaction didn’t help the situation.

“He kept saying, ‘Calm down’ … Thanks Chris,” she joked.

“In hindsight … I was being a bit dramatic. People are like, ‘This show should be cancelled.’ I’m like … just don’t put your hand in a pit of snakes.”

Chatfield beat out Gold Logie winner Grant Denyer for the crown last night, with the former Family Feud host photographed looking salty at the afterparty while Abbie danced up a storm and downed champagne.

“He was saying to me all day, “I hope you win.” I was like … don’t make me feel bad, I’m not going to say it back to you,” the ever-candid star joked today.
