Paul Woseen, a founding member of Australian rock band The Screaming Jets, has died aged 56.
Woseen played bass for the band which he started in Newcastle in 1989 alongside Dave Gleeson, Grant Walmsley, Richard Lara and Brad Heaney.
"It is with broken hearts that we tell you our beloved brother in rock Paul Woseen has passed away today," the band posted on its social media on Friday.
"We are shattered, dealing with the loss of Paully, he was a brilliant shining light in all of our lives."
The Screaming Jets have released multiple studio albums since 1991, including three that peaked in the top five of the ARIA charts.
The band is set to release a new album titled Professional Misconduct in October followed by a tour across Australia from October to February 2024.
Woseen also pursued a solo career, releasing his debut album Bombido in 2014.
"Our hearts are will Paully's family, and we ask that you respect our need for privacy at this time," the band said.
