The husband of Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has ended their four-year marriage amid claims that her partying was to blame for their split.
The revelation came as she was pictured partying with pals in Birmingham on Tuesday night, hours after the divorce papers were filed.
Joe Jonas applied for divorce at a Miami court in what sources close to the singer say was a “last resort” after he tried to salvage their relationship.
Their marriage is “irretrievably broken”, the paperwork states.
Yesterday, Jonas, 34, and Turner, 27, confirmed on social media that they are set to divorce.
Turner’s Instagram account wrote: “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually agreed to end our marriage amicably.
“There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly, this is a united decision, and we sincerely hope everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
The actress looked in high spirits on Tuesday night as she partied at arcade bar Dropshot Digbeth in Birmingham — where she had been filming her upcoming series, Joan, for the UK network ITV.
Sources claim the actress has been living a separate life in Britain for some months.
Jonas reportedly came to the UK with their two children over the summer and spent time with Turner in Warwickshire.
But a close friend said she felt trapped in her marriage and regretted “missing out” on her carefree years.
They said the pair started having problems last Christmas and that Turner separated from him at the start of the UK summer, spending the remaining months partying with school friends or holidaying in Europe.
One source told gossip site Page Six: “Divorce was a last resort for Joe. He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls.”
A source close to Jonas and Turner told TMZ: “She likes to party. He likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles.”
Before they married in 2019, the couple signed an “iron-clad prenuptial agreement” which will see Jonas — a singer in the US boyband the Jonas Brothers — keep his musical royalties, while Turner will keep her acting fortune.
They will share custody of their two young daughters.
