KIIS radio's Jackie O Henderson fears for co-host Kyle Sandilands after he doesn't turn up for work and not answering his phone - 9TheFIX

Radio host Jackie O Henderson raised concerns for her co-host Kyle Sandilands after he failed to show up for work this morning.

Sandilands, 49, is known to have a history of health problems but didn't explain his absence on the breakfast radio show. His colleagues were also unable to contact him because his phone was switched off.

"We don't know where Kyle is," Henderson said on the show. "His phone is off, which is very strange.

"Sometimes he might not show up, but he'll let us know beforehand," newsreader Brooklyn Ross added, to which Henderson replied "Always."

Henderson and Ross sent producer John Nicholson to Sandilands' home in Sydney to check on him.

Nicholson, who was broadcasting the whole ordeal live on air, arrived at Sandilands' home and entered using a spare key. Moments later, the radio personality could be heard calling out from his bedroom.

"Hello?" he said over the phone.

"Kyle, what happened?" Henderson asked, to which he sarcastically replied: "Well I slept in, didn't I?"

When asked if he'll be coming on the show this morning, he said he "might as well give it a miss, we're halfway through."

"We're not halfway through, you only lost half an hour!" his co-hosts replied.

Sandilands eventually made it into the studio to finish their broadcast and was met by a warm welcome from his colleagues.

In 2019, Sandilands was notably absent from the airwaves due to health concerns. Back in May last year, Sandilands revealed to listeners that he was preparing for a colonoscopy. The medical procedure looks for cancer, colon polyps or other abnormalities inside the bowel.

Speaking to Karl Stefanovic for 60 minutes on May 27, 2020, Sandilands said that his blood pressure "was good for the first time in probably 15 years. Maybe I won't just die one day without any warning". He continued to refer to the problem as a "silent killer".

"That means at any stage I could die. Any… at any time. Day or night," Sandilands said.
