Nearly six months after reports first emerged that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel had welcomed a second child, the singer has finally confirmed the exciting news.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, the 39-year-old not only revealed that he now had another son - but also disclosed his name.
“I’ll tell you his name. His name is Phineas and he's awesome,” Timberlake told the talk show host after saying that she was one of the “first people outside of our immediate family that we told” about the new addition to their family.
“He's so cute and nobody's sleeping,” he said.
“But we're thrilled. We're thrilled and couldn't be happier. Very grateful.”
When asked by DeGeneres what was different about having a second child, Timberlake joked that despite being in lockdown, the couple “don’t see each other anymore”, before going on to say “no, it’s a lot of fun... Silas is super excited.”
The couple first began dating in 2007 before marrying in Italy in 2012.
They welcomed their first son, Silas, in 2015, but they have never publicly shared photos of him.
While they never officially confirmed Biel’s second pregnancy, reports began circulating last year she had given birth again.
While news of the birth were first rumoured in July last year, Timberlake’s former NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass was the first to confirm the rumours two months later.
“The baby is cute of course, it’s Justin and Jessica,” he said.
Although he was on The Ellen Show to promote his new film Palmer, it was on the set of that production in 2019 that Timberlake made headlines after being spotted holding hands with his co-star Alisha Wainwright during a night out in New Orleans.
Two weeks later he apologised to his wife for the indiscretion, posting on Instagram that he was drunk on the night.
“I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family, I feel it is important to address recent rumours that are hurting the people I love,” he wrote.
“A few weeks ago, I displayed a strong lapse in judgement but let me be clear, nothing happened between me and my co-star.
“I drank way too much that night and I regret my behaviour. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son.
“I apologise to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be.”
