King Charles and Prince William are set to hold crisis talks at Buckingham Palace over the release of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell docuseries which will hit Netflix on Thursday.
A royal insider told the Mirror that the 74-year-old and his eldest son have locked in the meeting with their staff to discuss their response to any allegations that may be hurled at them from the California-based couple.
“If there is a need to respond to anything in the upcoming series then you can be assured that response will be swift and robust,” the insider told the British publication.
"There is a completely united front from the King and his family concerning the numerous attempts to privately make peace with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
"Which sadly have once again resulted in the other side wishing to air their repeated grievances to the world.”
Meantime, as the royal family braces itself for the six-part documentary, the insider claims that palace staff have given the Duke and Duchess of Sussex the new nickname “The Kardashians.”
“Because they want all the attention they can possibly get,” the source told The Mirror.
It comes amid a tumultuous week for the royal family, after Prince William’s godmother and Royal aide, Lady Susan Hussey, handed in her resignation over allegations of racism.
It's claimed she questioned the CEO of a domestic violence charity over what part of Africa she “really came from,” after which the Prince of Wales issued a statement condemning the alleged comments saying, “racism has no place in our society”.
The following day Netflix released a one-minute trailer of the much-anticipated “Harry & Meghan” series.
"No one sees what is happening behind closed doors," Prince Harry says in the promo which features never-before-seen personal moments between the royal pair.
"When the stakes are this high, doesn't it make more sense to hear our story from us?," Meghan says later says in the trailer.
